Things I'm Grateful For (Day 6/7/8)

Here goes the list.

A very nice bus driver who stopped for awhile when he heard I've dropped my stuff. He asked whether I was okay, and waited for me to take my stuff and get back to my seat. And he greeted me when I got on and alighted. I think that was the nicest bus driver I've ever met. Ever. Thank you, uncle.

Mum, for reminding me to have the end in mind. She kinda forced me to think about what I want to become in the next five years, and what is my target at the end of this year. And that also makes me think about all the activities I wanna do after this major exam of mine. All the fun, all the freedom. And those thoughts lift up my spirits. Thanks, mum.

My senior, for motivating and encouraging me, and believing that I can do it. Even though you sound like you're teasing me. I know you mean well. Haha.

My teacher, for being so passionate and equally (even more, sometimes) excited about what I'm doing. And for having that faith in me, and telling me that my ideas are workable, however ridiculous they sound sometimes.

My awesome friend who had dinner with me yesterday but forgot to bring her wallet. Thanks for waiting and tolerating my tardiness, and for accompanying me to buy all sorts of funny stuff. I'm so so grateful to have you around.

The good-enough-weather. I really hope I won't need to wear the n95 mask anymore. And I hope SBY really meant it when he said that they're gonna try their best to stop the burning asap. And I hope it rains soon.

Things I'm Grateful For (Day 4/5)

Well, hello again.

So the pollution standard index in this little island has been increasing berry berry horribly for the past few days. I must say that some of the stuff said by Indonesian officials really disappointed me, and I know that they could do much better than this. I shall not specify whose opinion I'm referring to, or what did the person say, as I know a lot of people should know which one is it I'm talking about. I hope that they would notice that this is a big problem too, and something needs to be done ASAP, as this haze affects people's lives.

Anyways, enough sidetracking. Here goes the third list.

Tante Chen-Chen and Om Ady. God bless them. I'm temporarily "migrating" to  their house at the moment (because of the haze, of course). And they are so so so nice, I really don't know how to put it in words. I am such a burden, an extra mouth to feed and all, especially now that they have a four month old baby. But they still welcome me, and in fact, it was them who invited me to come over. I don't know how I'm gonna do without them :').

This one teacher that I didn't like. I really disliked this teacher. I used to btch about her, and we even had a nickname for her. But yesterday, something happened, and it made me changed my mind. I realized that this teacher is actually a very nice, flexible, helpful and caring person. Well, he/she may be irritating at times, but..... nobody's perfect. And I promise that I will remember this kindness the teacher did to me if he/she irritates me in the future haha.

My friends. I'm thankful to have all of them, but I'll do some special mentions.

One of them helped me bring some stuff I forgot to bring from my house all the way here. All the way here!! The fact that he's willing to spare some space in his luggage makes me feel so grateful.

Another one stayed by my side when I was freaking out, and helped me look for a teacher. It was a simple deed: this guy just sat there and listened to me rambling and calling people, and it wasn't even relevant to him. Thank you.

My couzzzzzzzzin. Just because. I really wish this silly person is here. Sigh.

I guess that's it for now. And I hope my productivity rate increases significantly. And I also wish that the next five months past quickly, painlessly and tearlessly. Can't wait for December to come. Hope eeverything goes fine. Crossing fingers.

Things I'm Grateful For (Day 2/3)

Oh well, today's practically "Day 3", but whatever.

So as everyone can see on the online world, the haze has been horrible. People are whining and wheezing and putting the blame on Indonesia. Little did they know that Indonesia is so huge, that most Indonesians are not aware with what's happening. I wasn't. Until I came here and studied physical geog and experienced the haze myself. And for those who have no idea what am I talking about...... Our friend Google is always there, yknow.

Nuff sidetracking. Here goes the second list.

Did I say something about having Libraries? Oh libraries. I love them. (And yeah I realized how nerdy that sounds. Like I care.) To whoever had the idea to build an entire building filled with books, kudos to you, sir/ma'am. So yeah, there's a library only ten minutes away from where I live, and there's the biggest one in the country (National Library) just within 30 minute bus ride. Those two places are like havens for me. The phrase "stuck under the rain" doesn't mean anything when I'm in the library.

The fact that the haze doesn't affect my family. My grandpa has some lung problems, and I'm pretty sure that my mum and my sister would have some respiratory problems too if the haze goes all the way there. So I'm really glad that they're safe back home.

Milk Tea. Kaya Toast. Pork Rice. McChicken. Cheap food. Enough said.

Okay I can't really think of anything else right now. Hopefully I can list at least five tomorrow.

A New Project: Things I'm Grateful For

So I realized that I have been neglecting my blog. And I also realized that I haven't been exactly a happy girl, especially now that I'm back to the pressure point--the place where I'm far from home.

The fact that I won't be able to go back home till December, and that my coursework deadline and the mother-of-all-exam are coming, only help to dampen my mood and increase my stress level.

That's why I decided to try start a new project: (okay I know my past projects haven't been successful, but I'll try harder now, I promise.) Things I'm Grateful for.

So here goes the list, in no particular order, as I'm typing whatever pops in my mind.

Snacks from home. Indomilk, popmie, tango, nyam nyam, taro etc etc etc. a little taste of home helps me go through my days.

Friends. My mugging buddies. My hostel mates. My juniors and seniors. Their presence makes it easier. They make me smile, with all their quirks and the conversation topics we share. They're like a constant reminder that I'm not alone in this journey I'm on.

My senior's art notes. Without my laptop, I really don't know how I'm going to survive if I don't have these notes with me. You may not read this, but I'm really really really grateful. Really.

The transport system. Buses. Cheap concession fare. Without them I would be stuck in my hot-and-humid-as-sauna room.

My smartphone. Now that I don't have my laptop with me, I can't imagine if my phone stops functioning. (Touch wood)

My parents. The telephone calls, the whatsapp messages, the emails. The constant encouragement and prayers. And for putting up with my moodswings and nonsensical requests. Thank you.

Well, I guess that's it for now.

SUCKS.

Hullo. Well, this blog should change its name, I guess. The journal's been dead for quite awhile. But WHOA chill people, I'm still alive. FULLY ALIVE, even. Yes, my life's good at the moment. I'm now having a two-week time at home, a place I've been craving for months. I just had a trip to Thailand last week, and I had fun.

I know what you guys are thinking. If I had fun and I'm now at home (which I said was the place I was craving to be at for months), why is this post entitled "SUCKS", then?

Lemme explain. I've been spending these two days with the most awesome bunch of people on earth; first day making cookies with three of my besties and the second day couch-potato-ing with the other three, it suddenly pops out in my mind, how I am…

Gonna miss them sooooo muchos for the next five friggin months.

oui, mon ami. FIVE. months. I'm not going home till november. that horrible, dreadful, nightmare-ish, disgusting fact makes me realise that I am gonna miss them, and

The epic fayl caramel popcorn,
the "percakapan berkualitas" (high-quality conversation. red) in the car,
the photobooth and self-timer sessions,
the cookie making,
the gossipsharings for the sake of catchingups,
the silly jokes and abnormally loud laughs,
the dvd-marathons aka “couch potato”,
hanging out for movies,
everything.

Damn you singapore for taking me away from them. Damn you, for making me unable to attend their schweet seventeen parties. Damn you, for stealing bits and bits of my time which is supposed to be spent with them.

I never regret going to singapore, but this sucks. It just sucks. I know I have another bunch of great friends there -oh yes I am aware of how truly blessed I am, having bunches and bunches of people who care about me, and they are like my second family, they make my life there far less miserable :).

BUT I WANT TO BE WITH THIS BUNCH OF AWESOME FRIENDS, TOO. dammit I know I’m being immature and childish. Yes I know I can’t get everything that I want, but this sucks. Totally. Arfgh.

SEVENTEEN (part 1).

HEY GUYS WHATSUP. Sorry for the lack of posts, I've been freaking busy these days, I can hardly breathe. So anywayyyyyy, this is my very first post since my birthday!

YES I still can't believe that I am seventeen. sounds old huh. And even though it's kinda late, I'm gonna tell you bits from that day!

People say that your seventeenth birthday is one of the best days of your life. I didn't believe them. I live in this floating hell, for goodness sake. I don't expect anything from my seventeenth bday. It's gonna suck, that was what I thought. All those dreams about having a grand party? I don't dare to even think about that. I learnt that too much expectations is never good.

However, it turned out to be a total contrast of what I thought it would be. My birthday, I mean. It was indeed one of the best day of my life. From the moment the clock ticked to 12 midnite, the magic began. My batchmates. Schlr2010. They're the bestttttttt. My roommate. Aww she was so cute! And even some of my seniors actually cared to come to the hostel. I am truly blessed to have them :'). And my best friends back from Indonesia. Their gift was so awesome I almost cried when I saw it.

I don't know how to thank you guys enough. Really.

In the end of the day, I couldn't stop smiling. Thanks, guys :').

1 Year of Gratitude (in 90 seconds)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey! As some of you guys know, I am a huge fan of Jason Mraz. He's one amazing singer. And yeah, I'm listening to one of his songs as I am writing this post now! So I read this note of his in facebook, which is about the things he's grateful for in 10 years, which he listed down in 90 seconds. You can read it here. Inspired by this note, I make this post!

But it's not exactly the same, cus I'm not that old. I mean... 10 years of gratitude? 10 years ago I was this naive little girl who doesn't even know where Singapore is located, and who thinks that the only cool job in the world is doctor and astronaut. And now? I am living in that frikin place. So I decided to shorten the period of my gratitude to... ONE YEAR.

2010 was awesome. Awesomely tough. And I awesomely survived. Well, with scratches and bruises in some places, but still in one piece. And I won't be able to do it without the help of these things. Few minutes ago, I set my countdown timer application in my phone to 1 minutes 30 seconds, and type these things I'm grateful for in notepad.

So here are what I'm grateful for:

  • BESTIES
  • scholars!
  • junior highschool buddies
  • parents!
  • sisssssss
  • cousins and aunties and uncles
  • grandma's lomie and ayam garing
  • Om ady & Tante chen chen!
  • Christmas
  • Sekolah minggu
  • CHURCHMATES
  • ROSES!
  • HOSCOMM
  • seniors!
  • XINHUI my partner!
  • schoolmates
  • Holidays
  • Skype
  • MSN
  • internet!
  • MOE for monthly salaries
  • Mum for sending reflection everyday
  • Laptop
  • Ipod
MY BELOVED 9Bs :). The best friends you could ever ask.
Some of the others are not in the pict, unfortunately.

ROSES! even though not all of them are in the photos. They're indeed a family :)

The person on the left, yeah that's my partner, XINHUI!

They're some of my indonesian classmates! Awesome people to talk to :).

Those are my girls. We were celebrating our six monthsary! I've never thought that having sisters who are at same age with you would be this fun :).

This pict was taken wayyyyy in 2009. We may change physically, but we're still together! :).

Those are some of my fellow scholars. I remember two years ago I was worried about them being too geeky that I couldn't get along well with them. Thinking about that now, I would roll on the floor laughing about my idiocy. They're fun to be with, fun to talk to. And now they're like my second family in this hellish place! :).

Talking about having second family, I can't forget my first and most amazing family in the world. My very own parents and sisters, of course. They're awesome. Yes, now you get it where I got my awesome-ness, huh. ;);).

All those people. They create smile on my face, sometimes even when tears were on the very edge of my eyes, ready to flow down. Thanks for an awesome year of 2010 :).

Actually there are loads more that I am very grateful for, but 90 seconds is short, huh. Maybe I'll give myself another 90 seconds for another post someday!

And why don't you guys try for your very own list! Give yourself 90 seconds!

GO!

CHRISTMAS IN LESS THAN A MONTH!

---

Well I wanted to hibernate, but I think not this blog. I love this much more than my twitter account!

Well oops, you read me right, I'm hibernating my twitter account, till after Christmas! Why? Yes, good question. I just want to pull myself out of the crowd, back to the basic such as my blog, my tumblr account (yes I'm on tumblr! it's http://reginaekaputri.tumblr.com Err I know it's a bit late, but heeey I'm a newbie and proud of it!), MSN, and facebook (well, this one is actually crowder than twitter, but I'd like to catchup with some people there, and greet those having birthdays!)

---

Anyways. Let's go back to the title!

YES BABY CHRISTMAS IS COMING! I always loooooove Christmas more than anything. Well, not more than my birthday. Emm. Okay.

So it's officially my second most favourite day of the year! Why? For this thing, Why is not a really good question. I think everyone who favours Christmas has the same reason as I do.

I like the Christmas decoration, the red and green combination, the Christmas trees, the Christmas songs, the Christmas eve mass at the church, the birth of Jesus, the food, the legends about Santa Claus's workshop and the elfs, creating wishlist, the presents, and yes, of course, the SPIRIT!

Talking about decoration and trees, it's such a sad thing that I'm not putting a tree this year :(.
Last year I helped my aunt and uncle putting up and decorating a tree, and my batchmates and I, we put up our own tree in the hostel! And we had this small committee, making a stable, complete with all the statues of baby Jesus, Mary, Joseph, the angels, and the shepherds!

But this year, I'm not spending my november and december in singapore! Which is a totally great thing, of course, but sadly, in here, my Christmas tree is kinda... spoiled and broken down. I asked my mum about buying a new one, but she said there was no space that is big enough to store it. So my house is kinda plain for this year's Christmas, but that's okay! We still have the SPIRIT. YEAAAAH.

Talking about... hmm lemme think. the songs! Aaah I love listening to Christmas songs.

And the good thing is that... they're everywhere this month! Yeay :D

They're so calming and they somehow increase your SPIRIT. My favourite song is Winter Wonderland, the Jason Mraz's version! And White Christmas, Michael Buble's version. Ooh and there's this song which I'm not so sure what the title is, the lyrics are like this "Long time ago, in Bethlehem, the holy Bible said // Mary's boy child, Jesus Christ // was born on Christmas day" Well, that's the lyrics, if I'm not mistaken. It's such a nice song, I had a cassette of Christmas songs, with that song in it. However, the thing is broken now. Oh well, I'm gonna look for that song later! ;).

The next I'm gonna talk about is the mass. There's a particular mass I've never missed for years.

It's the Christmas Eve mass! At my church, at 9 PM.

It finished minutes before 12, that's why I love it. Because it's so Christmas-Eve-ish! Lol :) I started going to this mass when I was in 4th grade of primary. My neighbours and my parents, they were in charge of the Christmas masses that year. And four children, including me, were to perform as angels! Man, that was the most feminine Christmas of my life, I guess. I was to wear white dress, plus the white wings, and dance to the songs sung by the choir. I remember, it was "Slamat slamat datang, Yesus Tuhanku." We were performing at the 5PM mass, the first Christmas Eve mass. After performing, we got out, and had our dinner. At 9PM, I went back for the second mass. The mass was so solemn, and aah, the choirs are always the best. They always succeed to instill such a great SPIRIT. I decided that I'm gonna go again in the next years! Well, I do, till last year! :)

The FOOOOOOOOD. OHHH My favourite. Let's talk about this year's plan. My mum plans to cook lamb chops and roasted chicken for the dinner! And she's thinking about baking brownies and some other kind of cakes (and I'm still trying to convince her to do ;)) Let's have some SPIRIT on the food, baby! :9.

Ahh, the legend. I've always believed in Santa Claus, you know. just like other innocent, naive, kiddos. But at age of, errr, I can't remember, I figured out that it was my parents who have always been buying me presents.

That year, they were buying me and my sister bicylce. Their plan of convincing us that it was Santa Claus who bought it was almost successful. Unfortunately, they left the warranty card on the bike. My mum's name was on it. Sigh. Reality hurts, man.

However, I'm thankful indeed, that my parents instilled the Santa Claus image in my sisters and me when we were young. We were such terrified kiddos when Christmas was approaching. We would try our very best to behave well, so that we would not be kidnapped by Zwarte Pieten or Black Pete. There was a time when my sister was a crybaby, and one day when we went to a mall, we met this black pete guy. My mum talked to this guy, and bring this guy to my crying sis. After talking for a few minutes, my sis suddenly stopped crying, and after that, she was too scared to cry. Yes, my mum is -.-, but we were even more -.-

Yet heey! We grew in such a great Christmas SPIRIT, especially in the morning, when we ran all the way to the tree, and discovered that we had got a lot of presents. We would thank our parents and Santa Claus. Yes, we were naive, extremely naive, I know.

Years after that, my sisters and I decided that, Hey, we should exchange presents! If Santa Claus does not exist, so why don't we, yes, we, become Santa Claus ourselves! So yeah, we have this habit of writing our wishlists, and exchanging it with each other. Before writing them down, we consider the budget. Then each of us will look through the list, and choose one thing that we would like to buy. Then we wrap them, hide them, and give them in the Christmas morning! It's always interesting, and we're always as excited as little toddlers when we're writing down our wishlist, buying each other's presents, and (of course) opening the presents! Yeah baby the SPIRIT's on us! :)

Last but not least, the SPIRIT. Hmm, I don't think I need to talk about it again, as it's mentioned all throughout this post. Yes, you're right.

The CHRISTMAS SPIRIT is actually everywhere.
It's in you. In me. In all of us.

And it's better if we share it with everyone, isn't it? That, is why I'm sharing my experiences, my burning SPIRIT of Christmas, right now with you guys! Well, you can freely do what my family do, too! Cook some lamb chops, roasted chick, bake some cakes, exchange some presents, put up a Christmas tree and  guess what. Perhaps in the future, I'd like to tell my kiddos that Santa Claus exists! :).

HAPPY EARLY CHRISTMAS!

FAREWELL, SENIORS

OMG FINALLY THE FAREWELL WAS OVER YESTERDAYYYYY.

I've been fighting and spending sleepless nights and struggling with my macbook and writing 78 messages for my 78 seniors and it was exam period, too. I was so scaaaaaared that they wouldnt enjoy the farewell, especially the JC2s, who have some "high expectations" and high "tendency" to "boo" us away.

well, I know that it wasn't perfect, but they enjoyed it. That's all we (the committees) want :).

Costumes on! :).

THE JC2s, plus anisa.

the JC2s TERRORISTS FREEDOM FIGHTERS! They're super creative! look at the suicide bombers costume! There are redoxons and freaking calculators! HAHAHAHA :D

the lovely senioressssss

my batchmatesssss + anisa! (she's such a superstar that night hahaha)

Rena with the terrorist :)

another pics of my seniors! their costumes are EPIC! <3.

MY SISTAAAAA <3<3<3. Gonna miss youuuuuu :(.

here are the sec 4s.

OMG I'll surely miss them all! Even tho it's been only a year, I feel like having a second family here in CJCH. I seriously can't imagine how hostel life would be without such seniors like them.

And next year, I am the senior. That would feel super weird, huh.

Hiks. I'm speechless. All of you are the best seniors one could ever ask, bener deh.

Thank you for everything. Udah mau ngajarin gue disaat otak gue nge-lag, udah mau memotivasi gue supaya lebih kiasu dan jadi the ultimate mugger, udah mau menghibur gue disaat gue down atau stress atau sedih atau kangen rumah, udah mau bagi-bagi makanan ke gue, udah mau menggossip bersama gue, udah mau dengerin gue ngoceh sampe ngalor ngidul, udah mau curhat ke gue, dan masih banyak lagi.

I really appreciate everything that you guys have done to me, even by just smiling and saying hello when we met at the corridors or whatever. You guys are the funniest, friendliest, nicest, cutest, most caring, and sweetest seniors eveerrrrrrrr.

You've coloured my life. You make me feel normal. You make me feel at home :).

All the best for all of you, seniorsss. Remember that you still have a home here, in CJCH :''''').

TIMETABLE OF MY LIFE

Hi, this is me. I'm... exhausted. stressed. Yes, it's unavoidable. Everybody I know is kinda stressed here. Wanna know some reasons why? Here, let me introduce you the timetable of my days.

This thing repeats on the all weekdays. Now you have something in your mind right, about how monotone my life is. maybe you'll ask, what about weekends?

these recent weekends, my "lovely" CCA (co-curricular activity), red cross, have been invading my life. we've got trainings and trainings and tests and blabla on saturday, from morning till noon. if I'm lucky, there are no more disturbance for my weekend.

For now, my only wishes are:

*more sleep
*less red cross
*my family
*my friends
and most of all: home :(.

I MISS MY BELOVED 9B LIKE HELL :(

:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(. My life was a LOT better with them, the people I really-really-really HATE.

I hate them for making me very eager and looking forward to go out with them, spending not only few hours, but the whole day.

I hate them for not wanting to go back to this friggin place after that.

I hate them for addicting me to go out with them every time I'm back home. We'll go out, anywhere is okay. We'll talk talk talk, take pics take pics take pics. HAHA.

I hate them for making me miss junior high school so bad.

I hate them because they make me laugh every time I remembered those silly things we did together.

I

I hate them for there are too many photos to upload every time I went out with them.

But what I hate the most is that because I REALLY LOVE THEM SO MUCH! I have to spare some spaces in my heart for them! :*:*

A LIFE: STARVING CAMP, CLASS OUTING, DELA'S FAREWELL

I just realised that I'm such a slackish blogger. And due to that reason, my blog's going nowhere. Sheesh. But hey, I'm doing my best here now to be a better blogger! So here's another post.

Well finally, after a quite-torturing three month period in singapore, I'm finally home again. YES, for goodness sake, I'm home. Life's back to normal here at home. However, unfortunately I must be back on thursday. yes, this friggin thursday 10th of june. So here are my short days at home, and I'm trying all the best I can to live them to the fullest :).

Lately, I had been on some activities. Some are quite dull, some are awesome, some gave me new friends, some strengthened the bonds with existing friends, some is about a friend who's leaving, and etcetra etcetra.
Anyway, I've provided you guys some photos to tell you guys about the activities, and also, to relax your eyes. Let's start from the latest ones.

Here goes THURAIN, my group during Famine Camp on last 4-5 june. Believe it or not, we passed 30 HOURS without any food. Yes, you read me right, THIRTY HOURS. I must admit that I felt hungry, but then I survived. Hahaha. I feel rily proud about this thing, since I've never done any fasting for the last 16 years of my life. From that camp, I got 30 hours CIP. Man, I'm so proud of it.

Ohh, and my group is damn fun! Well, sometimes I felt kinda bored of the activities and everything, but they cheered me up with some singaporean jokes, random words about cheesefries, and we kept on yelling "They're hungry, but I'm starving!" --- which is a complete contrast from the motto of the camp, "I'm hungry, but they're starving." Even though I barely knew them, it seems like we've been friends for a long time! HAHA :).

Anyway, if you're wondering what is this camp all about, and why the hell we want to starve for 30 hours, check the website:  http://www.30hourfamine.org.sg/ :).

**

Let's move further back. On the first day of holiday, 28 may, my class had an outing to sentosa! Yes, my smartypanties classmates and I went to vivocity, and took monorails to the island. Unfortunately, my bloody camera ran out of battery even before we got on the island itself! Dumb me, I forgot to charge it ._. Thanks to my friends, however, I still got the photos on the island! Heehee :).

These are my classmates from INDONESIA! actually, there are eight of us, but anastasia and claudia were not there :/. from left to right: ida, stephanie, me, natalia, michelle, claudy.

And these are my other classmates! Actually there are 40 of us in a class, but some were not coming to the outing, and some others are not joining the picture-taking. but nevermind, THREEONE ROCKS :D.

**

Let's move another few steps back. On sunday, 23 may, one of my "sisters" was leaving. With leaving, it means that she's terminating from the scholarship, and not staying in CJ anymore. As some of you may know, I've been in singapore for 6 months. These six months rily tighten bonds between me and others staying with me in the hostel. We're like a family. I've got lots of sisters and brothers altogether. We celebrate birthdays, we spend days and nights together, we talk, laugh, cry, go out, watch movies, church, and doing all stuff together. But then, one is leaving. Her name's delania, or dela, for short. She's one of the many sisters I have there. Her room's used to be in front of mine.

So on that day, we went out to changi to "send her home". There are quite a number of us, and we chattered as we go by MRT all the way to the airport. From the time we left the hostel to the time before she left for boarding, we took some photos.

Well, if you're wondering what on earth is that, They're supposed to be read D-E-L-A. Hahahaha. from left to right: claudia (audi), elizabeth (eliz), ME, and claudy :).

Ohh, here is one of the photos that we gave to dela as the "last present". Hihi, on the left is nael, and dela's on the right ;).

There she goes. We miss you, dela!

**

Well, that's all for now. Post to you later! :).

MY LIFE

Hi, fellas! Well, you're probably wondering what the hell does the title mean. Kinda lame, I know, but those five things are the five main things I do every single day. Yes, only those things, no more.

Err, plus browsing, perhaps, but I just got my laptop, and I don't think browsing is gonna be a regular thing for me, thanks to those damn schoolwork(s).

So what do you all think? I cant say that my life is AWE-some, neither I can say that my life super duper sucks. (saying that it sucks would just make it sucks deeper, trust me.)

That's what I'm trying to do right now, convincing myself that my life is good - well at least it MUST be good so that it's worth to be lived, and I'm currently trying to encourage myself to be a tough girl, a very patient, thoughtful, and cheerful one, instead of being moody and stressed whenever I got super exhausted due to (AGAIN), those damn schoolwork(s).

However, my dear fellows, so far it has been MEGA difficult. yes, my friend, MEGA. If I can exaggerate more, it's ULTRA DIFFICULT. (I wonder which is bigger, mega or ultra?).
I've been biting my lips every time my mood drops and I'd like to shout to some annoying people, and it freaks me out sometimes.

Moreover, I also need to consider my friends' moods. I live a similar life here with them, so sometimes, when I got bad mood, they have bad mood, too. Well, when two or more people with super bad mood gather together, you can see some shits flying around.

For the past months, I've been such a "sekia" (meaning, a little child; childish person) by crying my mood out, texting my mum, saying that I want to go home, I'm sick of my life, and those sorts of things. I had been very selfish too, by asking both my mum and dad to come here, and leave my two sisters back home.

But then I realise that I can't do that forever.

I need to grow up.

At least, I need to act like a sixteen year old girl who has decided to accept this thing, and live in singapore.
I cant regret everything I have done.
I cant cry all night for those regrets, which would result in huge eyebags and stuck nose on the next day.
I cant blame my friends for what I got wrong.
I need to consider their mood.
I cant text my mum by capslock words and ask her to come here just because I got bad mood.

I need to live my life on my own. I cant depend on my mum and my dad forever, and neither I can depend on my friends.

The only one whom I should have leaned on is JESUS alone. Sheesh. Living alone makes you realise that you need to build up a stronger faith, you know.

Sigh. I need to try a bit more. good luck for me, I guess :).

HALLO DUNIA!

okay sorry to disappoint you, but I'm writing in my mother tounge for this post.

SAYA KANGEN INDOOOOOOOOO.

Tapi gue nggak kesel atau pun bete sama sekali kok. justru kebalikannya, I feel just like home.

and until now, I'm craving for anything "Indonesian". jadi kalo ada dari kalian yang ada usul-saran tempat yang "Indo banget" di singapore, please please kasih tau gue okaayyy.

Cheers! Salam INDO! ;D

I'M HOME!

"One's home is like a delicious piece of pie you order in a restaurant on a country road one cozy evening - the best piece of pie you have ever eaten in your life - and can never find again. After you leave home, you may find yourself feeling homesick, even if you have a new home that has nicer wallpaper and a more efficient dishwasher than the home in which you grew up." ~Lemony Snicket

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There's never such a place like home.

Two years ago, I would say "yeah, right" and take no further bother about that quote. but now, as things change, and my life is kinda changing too, I really agree with all my heart.

There really is no place like home, when you can relax all day, having silly simple things with your family that even though it is very simple, it can brighten your day in a blink.

Being home means a lot to me, and I really hate when people ask me, "Aah, how's life in singapore? Does it make you not wanting to come home?"

FCKING NO, people.

Yes, perhaps it sometimes feels fun to live with friends, in a foreign country. However, it can also be stressful, exhausting, and sometimes you can cry all night because of little things that is not working properly, or perhaps you can cry because of nothing. The tears just ran down on your face without any reason. Yes, it happens to me, I must admit.

Everyday you'll feel your day is dull, and you'll be counting the dates, looking for a long period of "red-coloured" dates, when you can go to changi airport, board yourself in a plane, and fly home to leave all those dull days behind.
Again, I must admit that it happens to me.

But now, since I AM HOME, I don't want to talk about those homesickness, those tedious routines I do back there. I want to talk about my euphoria of being home!

Waking up this morning, I feel like I'm dreaming. I got air-cond, comfy bedcover, my bolster, and ooh, my mum and dad asking me to get up. I used to be rather annoyed when they came and asked me to get up. Yet now, I feel really happy!

Last night, when I came to my grandma's house, meeting my cousins, tasting the food my aunt and my grandma cooked for me, and teasing one of my cousin until he was speechless, I feel like I'm the luckiest child ever. Even though the food is just like any food they've cooked for me, and the games I played with my cousins is only monopoly, I feel really excited of all those things, and I can't stop smiling all the night!

And now, my grandpa's calling out my name, asking me to go downstairs for my breakfast. On the old days, I would be really exasperated and not going down. But now, I'm soo happy to hear his voice, and I'm ending this post now!

"you won't be able to appreciate things before you leave them, or they leave you."
Appreciate your life, guys. Your family, your friends, everything around you. As you'll never know, how precious they are, untill you have to leave them behind.

Aaaaahh, feels so good to be home :)

SUCKING LIFE DEEPLY

[it's 16th FEBRUARY 2010, 2:06 PM]

Hi, there! again, millions of sorries from me, for being such an unproductive blogger. and what makes me even more unproductive is that my posts are ordinary. so sorry, I'm still in process of learning.

So as you know, I'm now living my life in Singapore. It's quite different and contrast with my life back in my hometown, lovely Indonesia. Perhaps you're wondering whether it is a good life, for a smart scholar like me. However, I must say that you get it wrong.

Firstly, I'm not that smart. Well, maybe I'm smart, but there are still people who are more ingenious, and far smarter than me. In fact, I'm a quite lazy student here, compared with my dear friends. Yes, homework sucks for me, just like it does for you guys.

Secondly, my life here is just as ordinary as yours. It is even more tiring. I need to wake up early, get ready, and walk my way to school. No cars, no taxis. I take bus, but most of the journey is on foot. So, bus is not counted. Next, PE lesson. Well, I'm never good at this subject. I can survive the joggings, the sports, and the push-ups, sit-ups, jumping-jacks, but still, I would prefer not doing PE.

The life at hostel is good, though. The food's nice, the aunties are kind and caring, the friends are supportive and fun. but there are chores you have to do yourself, and they are extremely tiring. The positive thing is that after doing those chore, you appreciate your "mbak" even more. you miss them, you wish they were here helping you doing those chores.

The best thing about living here is the weekends and the holidays. You can explore singapore, go to any place you like. The transport is easy, and the safety's good for traveling alone. You can shop till you drop, you can hang out in the cafes, you can go to the zoo (it's so COOL!), have a city tour, anything! You just need to remember the curfew at your hostel ;)

Ehem, I think this is enough for now. And for you guys who wants to go here for your study, I'm not discouraging you to come. I'm telling you what to prepare, what you'll face here. You'll be more independent, trust me. You'll appreciate life even more, believe me.

So please, do go. Do try the test. Do accept the scholarship. Do come to singapore. Don't make this post as a thing that discourages you.

OKAY? :D

P.S.: the local friends are very FRIENDLY! they're really welcoming. You'll definitely enjoy the class! :)

2010 SCHOOLDAYS!

THOUSANDS OF SORRY,BLOGGERS. I should have done my kaleidoscope project, but I slacked and it's failed. so very very sorry :(.

I feel ashamed when I did some blogwalks to my friends' blogs. they made some awesome postings about past memories in last year. I feel more ashamed when I saw my not-finished-and-not-complete-either draft. I have now lost my mood. SORRRYYYY :(:(:(.

by the way, this is my last year's kaleidoscope link

well, let's get to the topic. it's a new year, so HAPPY NEW YEAR, lovely bloggers! I wish y'all the happiest new year, and may your NY resolutions be accomplished :)

by the way, school starts already. it feels really really weird, wearing your uniform, getting up early, carrying heavy backpack on your back after SIX MONTHS being "SCHOOL-LESS".

The school lessons themselves are very exhausting. the teachers are simply immoral. they just give homework, homework, and more homework as if we got nothing to do after school finishes.

I was kinda sick in the last two week. I felt unwell, got stomachache, a little fever, and some headache. but thank GOD I recovered fast. there were some of my friends who got sick. it was like a relay race, when everybody takes turn to get sick. hahaha.

oops, I think I've babbled too much. see you later, bloggers. have a great 2010 :) and ooh, here are some pics!

1) the international students. all the way from the asean countries!
2) indonesiansss! YEA.
3) recess time.
